This 48-hour workforce hybrid healthcare program will prepare you to become an ECG technician, which involves monitoring and recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. The course prepares applicants to sit for certification through the National Center for Competency Testing for ECG Technicians (NCET), which is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). This course includes important practice and background information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, electrocardiography, and stress testing. The program is fully online with two required in-person lab days. Students must complete a background check by scheduling an appointment at 228-267-8637 and a drug screening with SRHS on-campus clinics at 228-897-9290.
